If there is one famous area and meeting point for all backpackers and travelers visiting Chiang Mai, it is the Old Town or the Wall Area.

As its name suggests it is the oldest area of the city, what was Chiang Mai years ago, surrounded by a wall and a water moat. The area, mostly pedestrian is crossed by small alleys, many of them still inhabited by residents in typical wooden houses. Being pedestrian it is ideal to discover small corners and the daily life of its people.
